Hofstra junior Aaron Estrada was named to the All-Met First Team, it was announced today by the Met Basketball Writers Association.
The award will be presented at the 89th annual MBWA All-Met Haggerty Awards Dinner, held this evening at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, New York.
This marks the fifth consecutive season that Hofstra has placed a player on the All-Met First Team as Justin Wright-Foreman earned a spot in 2017-18 and 2018-19, Desure Buie in 2019-20, and Jalen Ray a season ago.
Estrada earned a slew of awards following a tremendous season with the Pride. He was a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, earned United States Basketball Writers Association All-District honors, garnered National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District accolades, and was a All-CAA and All-ECAC selection.
Estrada had a spectacular season for the Pride, as he averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds. 5.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per outing. He led Hofstra in scoring and assists, and ranked second in rebounding and steals.
A five-time Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week Award winner this season, Estrada also led the CAA in scoring, assists, free throw percentage, and minutes played. He also ranked 10th in the league in rebounding, seventh in steals, ninth in three-pointers, second in assist/turnover ratio, and fifth in defensive rebounds.
