Day Two of the New York Islanders Training Camp

The New York Islanders continued their quest for the Stanley Cup with a very busy day at Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum. Head Coach Jack Capuano, had plenty of tests in store to see what type of grit and character this team has.

Jay Pandolfo was a part of Day Two, as he joined his former Devils teammates Mike Motteau and Brian Rolston, on the Islanders ice.

There was a flurry of injury news for the squad, as Mark KaticRhett Rakhshani and Marty Reasoner all sat out. Katic has a left dislocated shoulder and will have surgery, while Rakhshani is out indefinitely with a concussion. Reasoner has a strained knee, and there is no update on when he may possibly return to the team.

Matt Moulson and Michael Grabner, shared their thoughts on Day Two of Camp on Twitter.

From @MMoulson: Probably the hardest training champ day in my six years pro….no messing around this year

@Grabs40 tweeted: Glad the first day of fitness testing is over…one down one to go….boys look strong and in great shape…#seasonstart!
