Defense has been a key for the New York Liberty thus far, with any success the ladies have had on the court. That was again the case as the Liberty defeated the Fever 87-72 at a rallying Game Two victory of the WNBA Playoffs at the Prudential Center.
Leading New York was Nicole Powell, who recorded 19 points, Plenette Pierson had 15 as the ladies are now even in this best-of-three series.
Rounding out the Liberty scorers was Cappie Pondexter who finished with 14 points, Essence Carson who tallied 12, and Kia Vaughn who finished with 10. New York has a team finished with 11 steals; five blocked shots, and tallied 28 points from 18 Indiana turnovers.
Now the ladies will return back to Indiana, to avenge their Game One loss. The all-important final game will be held on Monday, with the game being televised on ESPN 2 at 8:00 p.m.
