New York Jets Soar in Preseason game vs Giants

The New York Jets and the New York Giants face off in Week Three of the preseason Saturday evening at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Leading the way for Gang Green is Aaron Rodgers as the Jets Quarterback was a part of the drives that gave the team a 7-0 lead. From there the Jets were able to soar to a 32-24 victory.

At the 8:28 mark Zach Wilson as he has been sitting under the learning tree of Aaron Rodgers, scored a touchdown during the first quarter in Saturday night’s game.

One of the big moments in the game came when Jets CB Brandin Echols intercepted a Tommy DeVito pass and returned it 67 yards for a TD. In what is a cool fact from the game the 14-0 Lead that Gang Green was able to build over the Giants is the first double-digit first quarter advantage since the Joe Namath-led Jets during the Yale Bowl in 1969.

“Yeah. We wanted to get two or three series. Have a first series, come back, get some adjustments, and it was good. Just listening to the offensive staff talk about the adjustments, because it wasn’t much of a game plan at all. To be able to get the adjustments, Don ‘Wink’ Martindale has an array of coverages and pressures that he can call, which he did, which challenged us. All of the plays were awesome because it forced us to communicate on the sideline and come up with adjustments,” said New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh. “It was a really productive day overall, not only for the first team offense and defense and special teams, but for the coaching staff and the way they communicate.”

Impressing in the preseason thus far has been Rookie Xavier Gipson. With the franchise only having two wide receivers’ spots left, Gipson and his amazing ability to gain more yards is going to go a long way in this season. Gipson is second on the team with his 9 receptions and 97 yards in the Jets preseason.

Up next for the New York Jets the guys get to have the first regular season game of the year as they take on the Buffalo Bills on Monday September 11. Start time between the two teams is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.

“As technology evolves, customers want to do more with their wireless technology at games, concerts and other events,” said Lynn Cox, SVP of Access Engineering and Operations for Verizon. “When large crowds of people gather in a place like a football stadium, network resources can be strained. So we are very intentional about upgrading technology and infrastructure in places like MetLife Stadium to accommodate our customers’ needs.”

“These two brands share a similar passion for Jets Football and a reputation for serving the community of New York,” said Jeff Fernandez, the Jets Vice President of Business Development + Ventures. “We are excited for the collaboration of these two well-respected organizations to help create a foundation of partnership for years to come.”
