About Us: 1495 Sports is the brainchild of veteran sports journalist Stacy Podelski, and will feature recaps, photo galleries, videos and sports community relations from your favorite sports teams, as well the world of Professional Wrestling and other various sporting events.

Stacy Podelski: Founder-Editor 

Podelski is an experienced sports journalist, having been credentialed to cover the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Liberty. Thus far 1495Sports has been able to gain credentials with a ton of teams in the New York Area, while also having been able to expand a bit into the Philadelphia and the Washington D.C. markets.

The Greenpoint, New York-native grew up watching sports at a very young age, while also participating in softball and basketball.

That is the reason why she has chosen the numbers 1495 for the site, since they have always had a positive meaning in her life. The number 14 has always been Stacy’s lucky number, and the numbers nine and five have both also had a ton of significance in her life. She is hoping to bring that positivity to the stories that are told on this website.  

Podelski has a wide variety of experiences in the world of athletics, serving as a collegiate statistician, having served as in the Sports Information Departments at Brooklyn, Kings Colleges and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. She also serves as an official sports statistician for a wide range of Colleges in the New York City area.

One can also see Podelski in a ton of community related events, as the former Girl Scout enjoys giving back to others and that inspired her to start up the Athletes Giving back in the Community features that you see on here, as well.
