About Us: 1495 Sports is the brainchild of veteran sports journalist Stacy Podelski, and will feature recaps, photo galleries, videos and sports community relations from your favorite New York sports teams, as well as WWE, Impact Wrestling and Family Wrestling Entertainment recaps and results.
Stacy Podelski: Founder-Editor
Podelski is an experienced sports journalist, having been credentialed to cover the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Liberty and currently serves as a credentialed journalist for Examiner.com for the Islanders and the Mets.
The Greenpoint, New York-native grew up watching sports at a very young age, while also participating in softball and basketball.
That is the reason why she has chosen the numbers 1495 for the site, since they have always had a positive meaning in her life. The number 14 has always been Stacy’s lucky number, and the numbers nine and five have both also had a ton of significance in her life.
Podelski has a wide variety of experiences in the world of athletics, serving as a collegiate statistician, having served as in the Sports Information Departments at Brooklyn, Kings Colleges and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
One can also see Podelski in a ton of community related events, as the former Girl Scout enjoys giving back to others. The biggest effort to date for Stacy is her annual Charity Walk Season, where she participates in a wide variety of walks for different non-profit organizations.
