Albany FireWolves make several roster moves

The Albany FireWolves have added three players to the team, as the franchise continues to shape themselves for a Championship season.

Announced first was the fact that the team has acquired Kieran McArdle and the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft from the New York Riptide via trade in exchange for Reilly O’Connor and the FireWolves’ eighth overall pick in the 2022 Draft, pending league approval.

McArdle, a forward, will be entering his sixth season in the NLL after spending his first three with the Toronto Rock and the past two with the Riptide.  In his career, McArdle has racked up 187 total points on 71 goals and 116 assists in just 76 regular season games.  McArdle brings playoff experience to the Capital Region, having logged 12 total points on four goals and eight assists in five career playoff games.  McArdle has had a successful career as an attackman in the Premier Lacrosse League as well, winning Rookie of the Year in 2014 and has been named an All-Star three times.

The next addition was that of Aaron Forster from the Toronto Rock in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2023 Entry Draft, pending league approval.

Forster, a forward, was drafted 15th overall in the first round of the 2019 NLL Draft and has spent each of his two seasons with the Rock.  Last season, Forster compiled eight total points on three goals and five assists in six games for Toronto.  The Ontario native finished his collegiate career with the New Jersey Institute of Technology as the Highlanders’ all-time leader in goals (115), assists (52), and points (167).

The final addition that was made to the team was that of Ethan Walker from the Georgia Swarm in exchange for forward Andrew Kew and goalie Ethan Woods, pending league approval.  The FireWolves have also acquired the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft from the Swarm.

Walker, a forward, will be entering his second season in the league after debuting with the Swarm a year ago.  The former first-round pick appeared in 10 games for Georgia, logging 30 total points on eight goals and 22 assists.  Walker has also spent the past two seasons in the Premier Lacrosse League with the Waterdogs.  So far on the 2022 season for the Waterdogs, Walker has tallied 13 points on nine goals and four assists in nine total games.
