New York Liberty edge Atlanta, 89-77

The New York Liberty (8-10) are starting to look like the team many had hoped to see on the floor for the 2022 WNBA Season. The latest victory for the team was a 89-77 decision over the Atlanta Dream.

New York had an impressive shooting performance going 47.1% from the field and also going 60% from the free throw line. The Liberty were able to drain seven three-pointers in the first quarter, which was huge in helping the ladies earn the victory.

There were three players who led the way for the team in scoring, as Sabrina Ionescu had a team-high 21 points on 46.7% shooting. Ionescu had a 14-point first half, while also having an impressive 55.6% shooting from deep, to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists.

Following Ionescu was Natasha Howard who had 19 points on 58.3% shooting from the field. Howard also contributed with 10 rebounds and five assists, which makes for her third double-double of the season.

Rounding out the Liberty scoring was Marine Johannes who had 17 points on 60% shooting, along with three assists and two rebounds.

These two teams will meet again, but next time at the Barclays Center on Thursday June 30, with a game that is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
