Hofstra and Charleston are well acquainted with each other as the two squads just faced each other in the regular season finale on Monday evening. The Pride won that encounter, 89-84, as junior Aaron Estrada had 28 points, seven assists, and six steals to lead the way. He was joined in double figures by senior Omar Silverio (19 points) and graduate student Jarrod Simmons (10 points).

Charleston enters the postseason with a 16-14 mark and went 8-10 in league play during the regular season. Ben Burnham led the Cougars with 19 points and 13 rebounds in Monday’s meeting between the teams.

Sunday is the 17th all-time meeting between Hofstra and Charleston with the Pride leading the way, 9-7. The series began when the Cougars joined the CAA in 2013-14. The teams did not meet last season. Hofstra won this season’s first meeting, 76-73, in Charleston back on January 27 as Estrada poured in 30 points in the victory.
