The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will open play in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Presented by Jersey Mike’s on Sunday when it takes on Charleston in the quarterfinals.
The Pride and the Cougars will meet at 8:30 p.m. from the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Hofstra Athletics Pride Club will be hosting a pregame meet-up before Sunday’s game at Bluejacket Brewery – 300 Tingey St SE, Washington, DC 20003. A fan bus will be available for the first 50 fans in attendance and will provide round-trip transportation from Bluejacket to the arena. Please fill out the form if you plan on joining!

The entire CAA Championship gets underway on Saturday, March 5 with the first round and will conclude on Tuesday, March 8 with the championship game. The semifinals and title game will all air on the CBS Sports Network.
The Pride heads into the postseason with a 21-10 overall record and finished its CAA regular season slate with a 13-5 conference mark.
Hofstra and Charleston are well acquainted with each other as the two squads just faced each other in the regular season finale on Monday evening. The Pride won that encounter, 89-84, as junior Aaron Estrada had 28 points, seven assists, and six steals to lead the way. He was joined in double figures by senior Omar Silverio (19 points) and graduate student Jarrod Simmons (10 points).
Charleston enters the postseason with a 16-14 mark and went 8-10 in league play during the regular season. Ben Burnham led the Cougars with 19 points and 13 rebounds in Monday’s meeting between the teams.
Sunday is the 17th all-time meeting between Hofstra and Charleston with the Pride leading the way, 9-7. The series began when the Cougars joined the CAA in 2013-14. The teams did not meet last season. Hofstra won this season’s first meeting, 76-73, in Charleston back on January 27 as Estrada poured in 30 points in the victory.
