New York City FC looks to rebound against Vancouver

One of the many characteristics of a Champion is how does one respond when dealt with adversity, how does one rebound after facing a tough patch.

New York City FC looks to show the caliber of team that they are when they continue their Major League Soccer season against the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC place on Saturday, March 5.

NYCFC is in a unique situation because they are not only defending their MLS crown but are also testing themselves against some of the top teams in the world in the Concacaf Champions League Tournament, but thus far Head Coach Ronny Delia and his team have shown that they are up for any challenge.

‘It is a tough situation of course with all of the traveling, with all of the games, but I love it,” Coach Delia said. “We have a good team and I think also that the environment is very good, so we enjoy being together. As I said, we want to finish off these seven weeks with a good performance and a win and then we can look forward to going back to New York and start playing at home again with our fans.”

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following video to get fans excited for the match against Vancouver. Featuring thoughts from Ronny Deila and Keaton Parks:

The Boys in Blue have been busy trying to find the pieces that they need to be back-to-back MLS Champions, and hope that the addition of Thiago Martins will help them on their quest. The 26-year-old joined New York City FC from Yokohama F. Marinos earlier and is hoping to be the starter for Coach Delia in the match against Vancouver.

One of the things that Coach Delia noticed about Vancouver is the fact that they seem to struggle with their overloads, especially down the right-hand side. The Vancouver Coach Vanni Sartini utilized a 3-5-2 formation in the team’s match against Columbus and it will be interesting to see how New York City FC Responds to that.

It will be a thriller of a match between NYCFC and Vancouver as both clubs are hoping to earn their first victory of the Major League Soccer Season. The last time the Boys in Blue were in BC Place they were able to see a 3-1 victory thanks to goals by Herber, Gary Mackay-Steven and Alex Mitrita.

How will New York City respond after what was a close 1-0 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy, and what adjustments will Head Coach Ronny Delia make as the team heads to Vancouver? All of those questions and more will be answered as the Major League Soccer Season is off to a sizzing start.
