The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were able to earn a 4-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in AHL action on Friday.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton were led by their young stars as Jan Drozg, Chase Berger, Jon Lizotte and Felix Robert were all able to have amazing performances at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
The home team were able to get on the board early, thanks to a goal by Will Reilley, who found the back of the net early in the game.
Drozg helped the home team add onto that lead at the 12:35 mark of the middle frame. Roberts was able to record his first AHL goal at the 3:14 mark of the third period.
Playing well in the cage for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was Max Lagace who had 23 saves.
These two teams will be meeting again today (Saturday) in a game that is set for 7:05 p.m. at the PPL Center. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will return home on Wednesday, March 3, when they play host to the Syracuse Crunch.
The team also were able to add to their roster recently, as Jordy Bellerive has been re-assigned to the team by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bellerive, has been with the Pittsburgh taxi squad for a while, and has been able to get some great playing time with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton team this season. The 21-year-old has been able to record 14 goals, 10 assists and 24 points with the team thus far.
