The Eastern Division is a tough one to navigate, and the game between the Buffalo Sabres and the New Jersey Devils was proof of that, as the Sabres fell 5-3.
The action was back and forth between these two teams, with both putting on some amazing action for the fans at home to watch.
For the Devils four of their five goals during the game, were scored in the first or last minute of the period.
Michael McLeod and Andreas Johnsson were able to get New Jersey on the board early with goals in the first period of play.
Curtis Lazar and Rasmus Dahlin were able to tie things up in the second, before Miles Wood gave the Devils a lead at the 19:59 mark.
For Dahlin, he was able to record his first goal of the season on his tally in the second period, which was also a power play goal. Dahlin was able to improve his career output against New Jersey to seven points.
Rasmus Ristolainen gave Buffalo a 3-2 lead to start the third period, but it was goals by Michael McLeod and Miles Wood that were able to propel the Devils to a 5-3 victory.
The Sabres will have a day off before heading to Long Island to take on the Islanders in games that will be played on Tuesday and Thursday.
