T.J. Oshie Launches COVID-19 Relief Auction Benefitting MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

Capitals forward T.J. Oshie has launched a COVID-19 Relief Auction benefitting the COVID-19 Critical Needs Fund at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The auction is currently open on Handbid and concludes Wednesday, June 17, at 3 p.m.

Select items in the auction include a 30-minute Zoom call with Oshie for the winner and up to 10 friends and two tickets to a future regular-season Capitals game, featuring a post-game meet and greet with Oshie. The auction also features items including a framed team-signed Stanley Cup jersey from Oshie’s personal jersey collection.

Proceeds benefit the COVID-19 Critical Needs Fund at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. MedStar Georgetown University Hospital established the COVID-19 Critical Needs Fund to ensure the hospital has the ability to meet patient needs and keep caregivers safe. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital prepared successfully for the already significant increase in the patient population and continues to be prepared, through the assistance of the fund, if any possible increase should occur as the nation begins to reopen.

The philanthropy supported fund helps MedStar Georgetown University Hospital procure additional personal protection equipment, increase retrofitted patient rooms with negative pressure equipment, expand care capacity through tent testing sites at hospitals and other locations, create drive-through and walk-up testing locations to increase accessibility for communities and prepare for other cost needs directly associated with the COVID-19 crisis.
