Cyclones gather

It has been a season filled with struggles and frustration for the Brooklyn Cyclones and that trend continued on 8/25 with a 5-1 loss to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park.

Brooklyn is now 2-6 since the All-Star Break and fall below .500 for the first time since August 7th. Franklin Correa had a 2-for-4 day at the plate, while also tossing a 1.0 scoreless frame on the mound.

Starting Pitcher Erik Manoah was able to strike out six batters in 3.2 Innings Pitched, he also gave up six hits, giving up four runs (four unearned runs). Gene Cone had a nice day at the plate for Brooklyn, recording two hits, while also scoring a run.

Ali SanchezColby Woodmansee and Desmond Lindsay all recorded hits in the game for the Cyclones. Sanchez recorded a double in the bottom of the Second Inning on a line drive to Center Field.

Brooklyn will now head on the road to take on the Williamsport Crosscutters for a three-game, weekend series in Central PA. The Cyclones will return back to MCU Park for a three-game set against the Auburn Doubledays on Tuesday, August 29, with the first pitch set for 7:00 p.m.

    • It happens, everyone has a good and bad season. The Cyclones have always been one of the top Minor League Team’s experience wise, so we are glad you had a great time. Keep on enjoying the games and thank you for dropping by.
