In a roller coaster of a game the Brooklyn Cyclones dropped a heartbreaker to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, by a final score of 6-5 in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park. Desmond Lindsay hit a homer in the bottom of the eight inning, but a sloppy frame in the ninth inning by the Brooklyn Bullpen allowed for the Scrappers to regain the lead.
Justin Dunn continues to impress for the Cyclones in his debut season, as the righty tossed 3.0 shutout frames, scattering one hit and a walk while striking out five.
Colby Woodmansee recorded a double on two hits and scoring a run as a part of the Cyclones offense. Lindsay finished the game with two RBIs, a walk and scoring a run. Michael Paez had a double in the Eighth Inning, while also working a walk.
RHP Erik Manoah and the Cyclones will look to rebound in the Finale of what is a Three-Game Set against the Scrappers, being held tonight (Thursday, August 25) at MCU Park. The First Pitch for the game is set for 7:00 p.m.
