The Brooklyn Cyclones snapped a four game losing streak in the 2-1 11 Inning victory over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at MCU Park on 8/23. Helping to lead the team to victory was Anthony Dimino, who recorded a single that drove home the winning run.
On the mound for the Cyclones Raul Jacobson tossed 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one run, while sitting down a career-high eight batters. Jacobson retired the final 12 batters he faced.
Jay Jabs had two hits and scored two runs; Anthony Dimino, Dan Rizzle, Franklin Correa and Luis Carpio all recorded hits to lead the offense for Brooklyn.
Thus far the main themes that have led the Cyclones to victory have been pitching and defense, the team will look to continue that trend in Game 2 in what will be a Three-Game set at MCU Park.
The Cyclones and the Scrappers will play tonight, as righty Justin Dunn will take the mound for Brooklyn. First Pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
