Try Rugby USA Clinic A Success thanks to Top Rugby Players, Coaches and WWE Superstar Sheamus


The top Rugby Players, Coaches along with WWE Superstar Sheamus were all on hand as a part of the Try Rugby USA Clinic that was held in New York City .

This is a part of a series of Rugby events all helping to promote the mega London Irish v Saracens match that will be held at Red Bull Arena on March 12. This is the first-ever Premiership Rugby game to be played in America and it features two arc-rivals with a great history and tradition in the sport.

The clinic featured  Nic Rouse, who is a part of the London Irish club and Wayne Morris, who was a former Former Pontypool captain and currently a part of the Premiership Rugby organization. Representing the US was Brooklyn-native Mike Petri, who is now a published author with his book R is for Rugby.

Even the young ladies in attendance had someone to learn from as Caryl Thomas was in attendance. Thomas who acts as a coach mentor, qualified Sport Leaders & PTLLS Tutor and NVQ Level 2 Apprenticeship Assessor. Thomas has had opportunities to create a coach development programme for youth in the past, while also serving as the head coach of the University of Bath Women’s rugby team and has gained International honours playing for Wales Women in the Six Nations Championship and in two World Cups (2010, 2014).
