New York Islanders Defender Nick Leddy was on hand at the final CityParks Street Hockey Clinic that took place at the Sunset Park Recreation Center in Brooklyn, NY on 11/17.
Leddy helped to teach kids from ages 8-12 basic hockey fundamentals, while also passing on invaluable knowledge on what it takes to be a successful professional athlete.
The CityParks Street Hockey Clinic is a six-week program that began in October free, which is not only free but also gave an opportunity to those with little to no experience a great opportunity at the sport of hockey.
Offered through the nonprofit City Parks Foundation, the initiative took place at three Brooklyn Parks, using portable equipment set up on an outdoor basketball court.
The finale featured Leddy, who had the opportunity to not only interact with the kids in attendance, but also sign autogaphs. All that participated also were able to recieve a voucher for two tickets for an upcoming Islanders game at the Barclays Center.
