No. 24 St John’s Men’s Basketball Balanced Effort leads to victory over FDU

Days after the St. John’s Men’s Basketball (7-1) thrilling victory over Syracuse and being ranked at #24 in the Associated Press Poll on Monday, the Red Storm were able to earn a 74-52 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson at Carnesecca Arena on Wednesday night.

Leading the way for the Red Storm was Senior Guard D’Angelo Harrison (Missouri City, Texas) who was one of four players in double-figure scoring. Harrison finished the night with 26 points. D’Angelo was able to to move himself up the St. John’s all-time scoring list, currently sitting in Seventh Place.

Continuing his stretch of great shooting was Senior Guard Phil Greene IV (Chicago, Ill.)  who finished the night with 16 points. Greene IV was able to score 11 straight points while also posting 13 of his 18 in the final 4:06 to lift St. John’s to the victory over Syracuse.

Rounding out the scoring was Senior Guard/Forward Sir’Dominic Pointer (Detroit, Mich.) who had 12 points, including two thunderous dunks in the Second Half of play. Junior Forward/Center Chris Obekpa (Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria) recorded a double-double of 10 points and 12 boards to go along with six blocked shots.

St. John’s will next be in action on Sunday when they head to Madison Square Garden to take on Local Area Rival Fordham University in the MSG Holiday Festival.
