Here are some notes as the New York Islanders (8-13-3) play host to the Winnipeg Jets (11-11-4) in NHL action on Wednesday night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
LAST GAME:

The Philadelphia Flyers broke a scoreless tie with three goals in a 3:02 span early in the second period and held off an Islander rally for a 5-2 victory Saturday at Wells Fargo Center. John Tavares and Eric Boulton scored for the Islanders, who came as close as 3-2, but could not complete the comeback.
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
The Islanders begin a four-game homestand tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. The Isles are 5-0-1 in their last six games against Winnipeg. Tonight marks the first of two meetings this season between these clubs.

Streaking: Casey Cizikas is on a career-high, five-game point streak (3g/2a).
Back-To-Backs: The Isles are 3-3-0 in the front-end and 1-3-1 on the back end of back-to-backs this season.
OUTDOOR JERSEYS UNVEILED:
On Wednesday the Islanders unveiled the jersey they will wear for the 2014 Coors Light Stadium Series .
FOOD DRIVE PRIOR TO THE GAME:
All fans are encouraged to drop off three or more nonperishable items to tonight’s game against the Winnipeg Jets , as the team is holding its annual food drive tonight.
Anyone brining in three or more items will receive a ticket voucher to the December 17 game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The team will have boxes and vouchers stationed outside the main box office, as well as Gates 1 and 16 starting at 5 p.m.
All donations will go to Island Harvest, which is Long Island’s largest food pantry.
The game between the Islanders and Jets is set to air on the MSG Plus 2 Network, with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
