Islanders v. Penguins notes 10/25/13

Here are some notes for our fans getting ready to watch the New York Islanders (3-3-3) who are on the road getting ready to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (7-2-0) in NHL action on Friday night.

Last Game;

Frans Nielsen tied the game with 1:12 remaining in regulation, but Brad Richardson scored 2:16 into overtime as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the New York Islanders 5-4 Tuesday at Nassau Coliseum. Brock Nelson netted his first career goal, Matt Moulson scored twice on the power play and Nielsen recorded three points in a game in which the Islanders surrendered 2-0 and 3-2 leads.
The Islanders and the Penguins meet for the first time since last year’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Pittsburgh leads the Metropolitan Division with 14 points, but is coming off a 1-0 shutout loss to Colorado at CONSOL Energy Center on Monday.

He also has an assist in four straight games.
Multi-Pointers: Kyle Okposo has recorded multi-point performances in each of his last three games (2g/4a). Matt Moulson has two straight multi-point games (3g/2a).
30+ Minutes: Andrew MacDonald has reached the 30 munute mark in consecutive games, including a career-high 31:26 Tuesday vs. Vancouver.
