The New York Lizards continued their push into the Big Apple market, by unveiling their brand new 2013 jersey on the popular SportsNet New York show The Wheelhouse on Thursday. The Jersey unveil was a part of an official presentation by Eamon McAnaney to his co-host Brian Custer.
On hand for the historic moment were Lizards players Greg Gurenlian, Drew Adams and Max Seibald. The Lizards who had been teasing photos of the new jersey on Facebook and Twitter, the new jersey was unveiled to everyone for the first time on national television.
These new jerseys continue the marketing campaign for the Lizards, who changed their name from Long Island to New York in December. Along with the name the franchise will have new colors, logo and a new and exciting look to match the excitement and energy of both the Big Apple and the sport of lacrosse.
New York will kick-off their regular season at home on April 28 against the Boston Cannons. The franchise is planning to have a new dance team, new apparel and even a carnival to celebrate the start of the season.
The franchise is even planning on playing two home games at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York City over the summer, in addition to the five home games at Shuart Stadium at Hofstra University. Games at Randall’s Island will be on June 6 and 13, both at 7 p.m.
