Here are some notes for those fans watching the New York Rangers (8-5-1) play host to the Montreal Canadiens (10-4-1) in NHL action at Madison Square Garden tonight.
The Blueshirts conclude their three-game homestand against their Original Six foes the Canadiens. Currently the Rangers rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and rank seventh in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 8-5-1 (17 points).

The Rangers enter the contest with a three-game winning streak against the Canadiens at Madison Square Garden, having outscored Montreal, 15-7 during the streak.
The New York Rangers were able to defeat the Washington Capitals by a score of 2-1 on Sunday. Helping to lead the way offensively for the Blueshirts were Carl Hagelin and Derek Stephan. Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves.
