After much buzz on the internet it has been made official, WWE Champion C.M. Punk will have to miss the TLC pay-per-view, due to a knee injury.

Though according to the site the knee injury was suffered during an encounter with Ryback this past Monday, fans who were watching the bout with Kane last week.

So now the landscape of the TLC pay-per-view will have to change, as Ryback who was set to challenge Punk-will instead have to team with Daniel Bryan and Kane to take on the group known as the SHIELD.

There have been reports that Punk had originally wanted to attempt to work the match with Ryback at TLC, but the executives did not want to ruin the possibility of a Punk/Rock encounter at the 2013 Royal Rumble.

It should be interesting to see how the company Is going to deal with their current champion recovering from the surgery. There is normally a rule that if you do not defend your title in 30 days, you lose it and it is being reported that Punk may have to miss quite a bit of time thanks to the surgery.

Punk, who is now the longest reigning champion in the modern era for the company; will still be making appearances and dropping pipe bombs in WWE programming-according to reports.
