Sitting in first place in the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers will look to dominate the division with a 7:00 pm face-off against the New Jersey Devils. The Blueshirts hold an overall record of 31-12-4 and a 14-4-0 mark in the last 18 games.
With more than 30 games remaining, now is the time for the Blueshirts to start the separation between themselves and the rest of the competition. This is only the second meeting between the Atlantic Division rivals, as the Rangers hold a 1-0 season series lead.
The last time the Rangers and Devils met, it was a 4-1 victory at the Prudential Center on December 20. New York sniper Marian Gaborik, who was the MVP of the 2012 NHL All-Star game with his four point performance (three goals and one assist) scored twice in that contest with New Jersey.
Fellow All-Star Henrik Lundqvist has a 23-9-5 record in the cage against the Devils, with a 1.82 GAA in regular season play. Hank made 30 saves in that December 20 contest, while holding a 4-1-0 mark and a 1.19 GAA, plus a shutout in the Prudential Center.
This will be the first game in a back-to-back set for the Rangers, as New York will head to Buffalo on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm face-off against the Sabres.
