Marian Gaborik returns home to help Rangers to victory

New York Rangers forward Marian Gaborik made a successful return to his native land, recording an assist in the Blueshirts 4-1 victory over HC Slovan on Sunday. ‘Gabby’ helped out on a power play goal by Mats Zuccarello to tie the game at 1 in the second period.

Brian Boyle continues his fine pre-season play with the Rangers, tallying a goal 59 seconds later, which was set up perfectly by Dan Girardi. Things were capped off for New York at the 17:42 mark when Artem Anisimov tallied a shorthanded goal.

Rangers’ cager Henrik Lundqvist continues his fine starts in the European tour, making several pretty stops in the Sunday afternoon hockey action. Thus far New York is 4-1-1 in pre-season play; the Blueshirts have one last exhibition game against EV Zug in Switzerland before opening up NHL play.
