Islanders getting ready for third pre-season game with Calgary

The New York Islanders are getting ready for their third pre-season game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night. The team will send a 20-man roster to compete against the Flames, with a majority of those players being of the rookie variety.

One of the players to watch for is Rhett Rakhshani, who has spent most of his time with the team’s minor league affiliate-Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Rhett has done well in his time in the minors. Leading the team in goals (24), assists (38), and points (62). This will be the first time the Islanders will see Rakhshani in action, as the winger has had to deal with concussion symptoms.

New York will also see the pre-season debuts of rookie forward Krill Kabanov and veteran center Marty Reasoner.  Seeing time in the cage for the Islanders will be Evgeni Nabokov and Mikko Koskinen. The puck drop is slated for 9:00 p.m. with the MSG network planning on broadcasting the pre-season game
