Cyclones complete Perfect Homestand with Walk-off Win

In a rare feat seen in MiLB the Brooklyn Cyclones went 6-for-6 in the most recent homestand against the Winston-Salem Dash in Coney Island.

Finishing up the series the guys played in front of a great crowd and in perfect conditions for baseball and concluded on the best note possible, with a walk-off victory by a final of 7-6.

To show you all how rare things are this is the first time since 2021 that the Cyclones achieved this feat, also some other fun facts from the Cyclones PR Department include the fact that the guys are having the best start for the franchise across 38 games.

Getting the game-winner was Ronald Hernandez as he got himself an RBI on a fielder’s choice and scored Carson Benge to complete the sweep.

Hernandez from Caracas thus far in the 2025 season has 24 hits to go along with two homers, 20 RBI and a .238 Average as he has done well during the games he catches in.

Another star for the Cyclones is A.J. Ewing as recently he was named to the South Atlantic Player of the Week.

Ewing is the first to receive the award during the 2025 Season, and the first to do so since Nick Lorusso and Felipe De La Cruz were able to win the Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards for the week of May 20-26, 2024.

After taking an off day the Cyclones head to the Jersey Shore to take on the BlueClaws for the second meeting in New Jersey. These two teams met in April and during that series the guys were able to see a 12-5 victory in the Third Game of the Series as well as a 8-3 decision in the Fourth Game.

Brooklyn sends Brendan Girton to the mound for the start, as the righty looks to pick up his third victory of the 2025 Season. Girton was drafted by the Mets in 2024 in the 10th Round with the 293 overall pick and thus far has struck out 32.

As for the BlueClaws they have Casey Steward going for his third win as well. The Wichita-native was drafted by the Phillies in 2023 in the 19th round and with the 583 pick and has thus far struck out 26 batters.
