After getting the first clean sheet of the 2025 season and being able to coordinate one of the more epic goal celebration moments the ladies of the Washington Spirit were able to defeat Bay FC by the score of 2-0 in NWSL action on 3/28/25.
The star of the night was Ashley Hatch as he was able to tally both of the goals in the match during the first half. With those goals Hatch was able to pass Jess McDonald for fifth-most regular season goals in NWSL history.
Hatch is some elite company as she trails only Lynn Viyendolo for most game winners of all time.
Afterward she and the team celebrated in a memorable fashion with a team coordinated celebration that was suggested by defender Esme Morgan.
Morgan and the rest of the defensive line did a tremendous job in helping the team gain the first blank sheet of the 2025 season.
Morgan along with Head Coach Jonatan Giráldez along with Casey Krueger and Trinity Rodman all share these thoughts after the team’s first victory at Audi Field…video is compliments of the Washington Spirit:
Other highlights include opportunities by Trinity Rodman, Leicy Santos and others.
The milestone moment of the night came from midfielder Narumi Miura as she made her 50th NWSL apperance.
All of the NWSL is going to be on a break for the FIFA international window before returning to play on April 12, when they go on the road to take on Racing Louisville FC at 5:00 p.m.
