The ladies of Gotham FC are continuing to show the quality when it comes time for defense, and put on a master class of an effort in the scoreless draw against Houston.
Some of the impressive numbers from after the night included the fact that the ladies were able to limit the Dash to the fewest shots of any NWSL team this season. The final number was a 0.11 expected goal rate, which is something that the ladies were very proud of.
After the night Gotham has a 9-1-6 overall record in the last 16 road games.
There was a bit of bad news though as there was an injury to Team Captain Tierna Davidson in the 44th minute, as something happened with her leg.
That is something that Head Coach Juan Carlos Amorós as well as the rest of the Coaching staff are going to monitor as the team is getting some of the other stars on the roster healthy and back on the field for the 2025 Season.
Some of the stars of the match included defender Emily Sonnett, as the team continued to build on the performance that they had against Orlando. Sonnett stats included the fact that she attempted 76 passes, which is the most by a Gotham FC player in the regular season this year.
Fans are encouraged to watch this video featuring thoughts from Coach Amorós along with Emily Sonnett and Sarah Schupansky after the team’s draw against Houston…video is compliments of Gotham FC:
Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger was in the net for the first clean sheet of the 2025 season, as well as the ninth with the Club.
In the milestone moment of the day Defender Mandy Freeman worked her way up the history books, as she passed Erica Skroski for second in club history with her 97th regular season appearance. Freeman also passed Kelley O’Hara to become in fifth place in club history in regular minutes played (that is a total of 7,177).
After a week off for international play the ladies of Gotham FC return to Sports Illustrated Stadium on April 13, as they are going to have Fashion Day in Harrison.
With the ladies always showing their unique style and voice off the pitch with the clothing that they wear, they are going to encourage others to do the same and show the sense of style they have at the home match on the 13.
That match to be played against the North Carolina Courage is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. with the action to be aired on the NWSL + and Paramount + networks.
