With heavy hearts after the tragic events in the Washington D.C. area, Spirit stars Ashley Hatch and Tara McKeown joined on a media zoom and talked about a wide range of topics on a Zoom Availability with the team.
There was a ton of good news for the duo, as the offseason was a productive and positive one. Hatch and McKeown
Hatch coming into the 2025 Season from an incredible year, as she reached the 50th career goal milestone. In making that mark she became the seventh NWSL player to score 50 regular season goals.
Ashley was always one of the leaders on the offense as another impressive stat is the fact that she was able to convert on 10 penalties, and that is good for fourth most in the league history.
As for McKeown, she was a huge part of the franchise getting the second seed in the NWSL Playoffs. Some of the stats for Tara included 29 tackles, 31 interceptions and having a 86.15 passing percentage.
Because of her performance Tara was named to the 2024 Best XI Second Team, and was named the Spirit Defender of the Year.
The ladies talked about the busy NWSL Season and all the exciting moves that had taken place, as the rosters changed drastically with this free agent class.
They also talked about how they were able to spend time with the family and refresh and recharge themselves towards the 2025 Season.
Something the Spirit as well as the rest of the Washington D.C. community as a whole are going to tackle together is how they can band together and help those that were affected by the loss of life near the Ronald Regan Washington National Airport.
