During one of the most talked about 2024 Seasons with the franchises MLS Cup Playoff run concluding with a loss to the New York Red Bulls, there are plenty of questions for those that are at the helm of New York City FC.
Once the 2024 Season concluded there were plenty of moves made with one of the first ones being the departure of Head Coach Nick Cushing.
Coach Cushing had himself one heck of a 2023-24 seasons, as all throughout there were fans demanding his departure; eventually welcoming the coach back in and then demanding his departure yet again.
The thing with Coach Cushing that is going to be forever remembed his is true passion and enthuasiasm for the guys and the franchise that is New York City FC.
All throughout his tenure as Coach, Nick Cushing always believed in the guys that were on the field. During every Press Conference the beating of the drums were, “We are going to get through this and we are going to prevail.”
As the wait is on to see as to the next person to lead the Boys in Blue is going to be there were plenty of buzz surronding the Franchise.
According to the rumor mill there is a possibility of Pascal Jansen is leaving Hungary to be state side.
There is also some other great news for the club, as the soccer specific stadium the team is officialy in progress.
During the Month of December with Mayor Eric Adams, along with other New York City Politicians in attendance they were all able to break ground on the building of Etihad Park that is projected to be built in 2027.
Then after that there were roster moves made as Luis Barraza, Thiago Andrade, Nicolas Acevedo and James Sands all start a new chapter with another club.
Looking to make an impact with the Boys in Blue are the signees fo the MLS SuperDraft as New York City FC had one of hte biggest-ever classes with five picks.
They are Max Murray from the University of Vermont, Collin McCamy from Northwestern, University of Virginia striker AJ Smith, Arnau Farnós from Oregon State University and Nicholas Cavallo from UCLA.
From there it is all just a waiting game to see what the next moves are going to be and allowing for the excitement to build for the 2025 season, as the schedule for the club is announed and on the team’s website.
