Winners of three consecutive matches, New York City FC is clicking on all cylinders at just the right time as the Boys in Blue defeated Nashville by a final of 3-1 at Red Bull Arena.
Thus far with the end of September and start of October the Boys in Blue are playing the style of soccer that are going to make them a team to watch for, as they not only defeated Metro area rivals the New York Red Bulls, but they were also able to earn a 3-2 victory against FC Cincinnati.
With the victory the guys are currently in Fifth Place in the MLS standings prior to heading to Montreal for Decision Day at Stade Saputo.

Playing with the full pedal on the medal and getting to the net quickly was Santi Rodriguez and thanks to his play was rewarded with the first goal of the match in the 1′. Rodriguez impressed throughout the night with his dribbling ability, the ability to lead the offense and was rewarded again with a goal at the 18′.
The first goal for Santi was the fastest one for the franchise in the regular season and in club history in Major League Soccer.
Then later on the Boys in Blue got a goal from Alonso Martinez (16) prior to the guys heading into the locker at the half.
Martinez was able to reach a unique milestone with his goal, as that was the overall 600th goal in all competitions.
Nashville did get on the scoreboard on a goal by Hany Mukhtar at the 58′ but from there the NYCFC and the play of Matt Freese led the team to a huge three points.
Thus far the guys enjoy playing at Red Bull Arena as they have a 2-0-0 record when hosting teams. What was a great scene after the victory, in addition to the team saying ‘thank you’ to the fans was the meet-and-greet they were able to do with those that were pitch side, as a part of the regular season home finale.
The faithful followers of the team got to meet their favorite players, got uniforms from the guys along with photos, autographs and memories to last a lifetime thanks to the interactions.
All there is going to be right now for the fans is going to be counting down till October 19, as the guys get back to the training pitch for the 2024 Decision Day Match against CF Montreal in a match to be played at 6:00 p.m.
