It is one heck of a season for the 2024 Washington Spirit (15-6-2) as the ladies are currently in second place in the standings, with the Playoff Season right around the corner.
The ladies are on a rollercoaster for the Month of September, as they were able to gain victories against Portland, Houston and Angel City.
In the franchises most recent match against Orlando there was a ton on the line. Getting to get the first regular season start with the franchise was Heather Stainbrook, as the undrafted rookie is making a positive impact with the team.
There are a ton of awards and good news when it comes time for the ladies of Washington D.C. including the fact that Anna Heilferty is nominated for the Nationwide Lauren Holiday Impact Award.
The NWSL is always known for the type of impact that they make in the community, as the ladies work tirelessly behind the scenes to grow the sport of soccer, while being a positive impact off the pitch.
On May 23, 2024, the league announced a partnership with Nationwide to recognize an NWSL Player for the outstanding service and character off the pitch.
Heilferty, speaking about her work on the Spirit X page about the impact that soccer has made to her, is doing some amazing work when it comes time to helping with the Friends of Anacostia Park.
