New York City FC Head into match against Charlotte FC on a Roll

Since wearing the 24/7 kit and returning to New York City the Boys in Blue of New York City FC are winners of Two in a Row with victories against New England and D.C. United recently.

In the team’s most recent meeting against D.C. Untied on April 20 the guys were able to see goals by Santiago Rodriguez and Julián Fernández in the 20′ and the 90′ +1′ respectively.

Thus far Santi is lighting things up on the field as he leads the way in scoring with four goals, with one coming from outside the box and three goals inside the box. In addition, Santi is being creative and finding his teammates on the field as well as leading the way in assists.

Another player exciting fans with his style of play on the pitch is Fernández with his two goals and one assists.

Not only are things clicking for the team on the offensive side of the field, but the team’s defensive style is looking tremendous as well, and the play of goalkeeper Matt Freese is impressing more and more with each start that he makes with franchise.

The Boys in Blue are looking to keep the winning ways going when they host Charlotte FC at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, April 27 with the start of the match scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Thus far NYCFC and Charlotte played five times in the MLS, including a 1-0 loss at Bank of America Stadium. The luck for the Boys in Blue is looking to change as they haven’t won yet against Charlotte, but all of that can hopefully change with the way the team is playing thus far in front of the home crowd in New York City.

Especially an encouraging trend is the fact that NYCFC has won the last two matches played at Yankee Stadium in seeing victories against New England and Toronto FC. When it comes time for playing in front of the home crowd the team has a 3-1-1 record.

There is going to be a ton work to be put in by the team as they are training and preparing to host Charlotte FC in MLS action at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, April 27 with the start of the match scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
