Gotham FC go on the Road to take on the Courage

With the NWSL season underway the ladies of Gotam FC are looking to keep the momentum they have going by going up against the North Carolina Courage on Saturday, March 30 at WakeMed Soccer Park with the start of the action scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

In a rematch of the 2023 NWSL Playoff quarterfinals things are a bit different in terms of rosters and how the franchises are looking thus far.

Gotham FC are going into the match with some unfortunate news as forward Midge Purce suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury during the match against Portland.

There are going to be a ton of players to watch for though as Gotham FC is going to showcase talent such as Emily Sonnett and Crystal Dunn on the pitch more frequently.

Also there is the development of players such as Jenna Nighswonger coming into her second year with Gotham FC. Thus far Nighswonger continues to build on her first successful season and continues to impress with her style of play.

Esther in her second year with Gotham FC is also impressing and continuing to be someone to watch on the attacking side of the field, as the forward was a vital part in the Franchises 1-o regular season victory against Portland. thus far Esther has 22 of 26 shots.

The good news for Gotham FC is the fact that they went unbeaten in all the meetings they had against North Carolina during the 2023 season. The overall record was 3W-2D in League, Challenge Cup and Playoff matches.

There is a ton of excitement and hype for the ladies of Gotham FC as they head to North Carolina and take on the Courage this Saturday, March 30 with the action scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
