As the 2024 MLS season quickly approaches and the New York Red Bulls first match against Nashville at GEODIS Park coming quickly the franchise held a media day at Red Bull Arena as the newly appointed Head Coach Sandro Schwarz and the newly named team captain Emil Forsberg gathered in Harrison.
Also in attendance are Carlos Coronel, Sean Nealis, John Tolkin, Andres Reyes,, Lewis Morgan, Peter Stroud, Daniel Edelman, along with Dante Vanzeir as the anticipation builds for the team’s first official match of the year.
There are so many questions that surround the New York Red Bull Franchise especially with the newest additions of Coach Schwarz and having Emil wearing the team’s Captain’s Armband.
After the team’s participation in the Coachella Vallely Invitational and the opportunity to grow and develop it is going to be fascinating to see what is going to happen when the team first steps onto the pitch in Nashville to kick off the MLS Season.
When the Red Bulls and Nashville last met it was the boys in Red getting the 1-0 victory on October 21, and what the team is fully expecting is a bit of revenge from the opposing squad.
When it comes time for the first match of the year the newly appointed captain Emil Forsberg has this to say, “It’s going to be good. I mean, we had our first session today for the week for the upcoming game against Nashville. The preseason, I think, went very well. We had 22 days at preseason training camp. It’s a good time to get to know the guys, to get to know the team, and have a fantastic time. I think we as a team have been taking steps forward and we’re excited. We’re not perfect yet. But we are demanding more from each other every day on training and in games, and we want to win every game. All we have to do is push each other to reach great heights, because we as a team want to achieve something this year, we are going to do everything we can to do that. “

Speaking of the first match against Nashville the New York Red Bulls is set to take place on 2/25 at GEODIS Park on 2/25 with the start of the match scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
