Action Packed Fight Night set for Top Rank Boxing on February 16 as Foster takes on Nova

The folks at Top Rank Boxing have returned to thrill fans of New York with a night of action-packed boxing on February 16 as the WBC junior lightweight world Champ O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster (21-2, 12 KOs) and Abraham “El Super” Nova (23-1, 16 KOs) are going to be featured in the Main Event of an ESPN-televised tripleheader on Friday, February 16 in the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.

Being greeted by MSG in style with the fighters receiving custom New York Knicks Jersey’s all the fighters are going to thrill those in attendance on Friday night.

Foster is coming into this one battle tested as he recently defeated his Championship with a come-from-behind 12th round knockout against Rocky Hernandez last October.

It is going to be a thriller of a night as in the co-feature, Andres “Savage” Cortes (20-0, 11 KOs) takes on Puerto Rican contender Bryan Chevalier (20-1-1, 16 KOs).

Recently named Ring Magazine Prospect of the Year and Brooklyn-native Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (10-0, 6 KOs) is going to open the night by taking on Bernard Torres (18-1, 8 KOs) in the 10-round televised opener.

Carrington is one of the feel-good stories that came from the Press Conference held in The Theatre at Madison Square Garden, shining a beacon of light as to what it is to make something and be a blueprint that you can succeed and push through diversity.

Things got extra spicy in the confrontation between Nova and Foster as Foster wanted to battle the El Super” in the past, but the stars were unaligned until this Friday at Madison Square Garden.

They say that some things in life are meant to be, and, in this meeting, Foster is going to go into the battle with the WBC junior lightweight world title and with the eyes on the world seeing what his brand of boxing is going to be all about.

Overall there are going to be a ton of feel good stories going into the fights on Friday, in addition fans in attendance are going to see an amazing undercard including Italian heavyweight Guido Vianello (11-1-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-rounder against Moses Johnson (11-1-2, 8 KOs), as well as U.S. Olympian Tiger Johnson (11-0, 5 KOs), who risks his unbeaten record against Paulo Galdino (13-7-2, 9 KOs) in an eight-round junior welterweight tilt.

The night of fights starts on ESPN + at 5:20 p.m. with the rest of the telecast turning to ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 9:00 p.m.
