Wonderfully Amazing Comeback for Riptide in 10-8 performance against the Seals

The New York Riptide (5-4) made the Marvel Comic Books come to life in addition to having a wonderfully amazing comeback in the team’s 10-8 victory against the San Diego Seals (6-3) in National Lacrosse League Action at NYCB Live-Nassau Coliseum.

Winners of four straight the team donning Spider-Man uniforms showed a ton of heart and grit in the eventual victory over the Seals a third-place team in the standings.

It was in the Second Half of play that the Riptide turned the tide, as they started the comeback by scoring three -third quarter goals and five fourth quarter goals.

In what was a milestone night for the Riptide Jeff Teat reached the 300 Career Point plateau and counting with his four goals and three assist performance. Also having a milestone is Reilly O’Connor with his 400 career points.

A graduate of Georgetown University O’Connor is one of the leaders of the Riptide with his 33 total assists, ranks fifth in goals with nine and is third on the team in points with 42.

With each game that he plays in his time in New York Teat is gaining more and more momentum in getting his name to be known as one of the best in the sport. Teat one of three players in lacrosse history as he is selected first overall in the NLL and PLL/MLL Drafts.

Teat also playing for the Atlas Lacrosse Club and finishing the 2021 season second in scoring and being nominated for the Jim Brown MVP Award.

Cameron Dunkerley putting on a superhuman performance in the cage made 52 saves for the Riptide as he was able to outperform Seals goalkeeper Christopher Origlieri  making 37 saves.

Origlieri reached a milestone in the night as he reached 1000 minutes played, some of the other impressive performances for the Seals included the play of Austin Staats as he played in his 5th consecutive game with a hat trick.

Dane Dobbie made his way up the Seals history book as he is tied for Sixth in all-time career goals at 527.

The Riptide go on the road for three consecutive games including an eventual meeting with the First Place Albany FireWolves on Saturday, March 2 before returning to NYCB Live-Nassau Coliseum on March 9 to host the Las Vegas Desert Dogs in National Lacrosse League action with the start time scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
