As excitement filled the air at Red Bull Arena on a rainy Friday evening, the New York Red Bulls introduced two of the newest pieces of the team in Head Coach Sandro Schwarz, and Designated Player Emil Forsberg to members of the soccer media.
Being introduced by Head of Sport Jochen Schneider, Forsberg already having a viral moment with the franchise during the team’s preseason match on Saturday, January 27, is going to be one of the biggest keys to success.
Looking to create new memories, moments and a unique identity to the pitch the New York Red Bulls are going to be one of the teams to watch for.
Forsberg a star from Sweden and playing with RB Leipzig made 324 appearances with the franchise and scoring 71 goals and adding along 68 assists.

There is going to be a ton of exciting players joining Forsberg on the 2024 Red Bulls roster, including the returning goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, John Tolkin and welcoming guys such as Aidian O’Connor with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
Looking to build from a 2023 Season that saw the Red Bulls reaching the MLS Cup Playoffs, there is going to be a ton of intrigue to see what style of play that Coach Schwarz is going to bring to the area and how Forsberg is going to fit in along with the rest of his teammates.
Schwarz brings a ton of great experiences with him to the New York/New Jersey area as he Coached with FC Eschborn, FSV Mainz 05, Dynamo Moscow and Hertha Berlin.
There are a ton of questions and excitement that is building, as things are quickly building up towards the team’s first regular season game happening on February 25 as the Red Bulls take on Nashville at GEODIS Park with the start time at 5:00 p.m.
