Quick Turnaround for New York City FC as they look to rebound against FC Cincinnati

It is going to be a quick turnaround for the Boys in Blue as they play host to FC Cincinnati in MLS Action on 5/31 at Yankee Stadium.


New York City FC had their first taste of defeat in one of their home stadiums, as they most recently fell to the Philadelphia Union by a final of 3-1.


Now the guys have a chance to turn their luck around and being able to do so in front of their fans in the Bronx.

New York City FC and FC Cincinnati have a bit of history in the Bronx as they have played in eight contests thus far. Thus far the Boys in Blue are undefeated holding a 6-0-2 record. In terms of stats NYCFC has been able to outscore Cincinnati 27 goals to 10.


Gabriel Pereira plays well against the Cincinnati squad, as he has been able to score two goals in two games played. In addition, Talles Magno blasted a goal in two games played. Also, Keaton Parks tallied a goal.

Overall, Pereira has played 972 minutes, having four goals, in addition to the highest goal scored average in over 90 minutes.


Meanwhile, Magno rounds out NYCFC’s top three scorers for the season thus far with 14 games and 1107 minutes played, to go along with three goals, one assist and the third-highest goal scored average over 90 minutes.


Even though there have been some though losses, there has been a ton of positives coming from the New York City FC side of the field. As the team’s passing and accuracy has been stellar so far.


In terms of overall standings NYCFC is fifth in the league in total number of accurate passes with 5,950. In addition, the club is seventh in total number of overall passes with 6,973.


Hopefully the team can show a bit of resilience and rebound ability as they get ready to host FC Cincinnati in MLS action at Yankee Stadium on 5/31. Kickoff is set for 7:39 p.m. with fans catching the action on the MLS Season Pass.
