It is only the WNBA Preseason, and the New York Liberty have every reason to feel optimistic even though they faced a 84-77 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday.

The Liberty are building the foundation for the team that they hope that they can be, when the official start of the season begins. They are daily working on things such as communication, teamwork and how to build that Championship Chemistry.

To hear more about the loss fans are encouraged to check out the following video featuring thoughts from Head Coach Sandy Brondello along with Betnijah Laney and Sabrina Ionescu. Video is compliments of the New York Liberty:

Las Vegas, meanwhile, have always been one of the top teams in the WNBA. On Saturday evening they showed why.

Heling to lead the way for the Aces is Kelsey Plum, as she finished with 22 points and three assist. Also shining was Chelsea Gray as she had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, New York had some impressive performances as Sabrina Ionescu had a line of 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Breanna Stewart also is starting to get a bit of a groove as she had a night of nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.

There is going to be a ton of work put in by the New York Liberty as they gear up for what will be a tough test in the regular season opener. That test is going to be on the road as they take on the Washington Mystics, who have been consistently one of the WNBA’s top teams in the League.

The Liberty and the Mystics who are going to be playing in the Entertainment and Sports Arena, will start of the WNBA season at 7:00 p.m.
