WWE sets new records thanks to Backlash Event in Puerto Rico

One of the exciting things whenever the WWE brings an event to a new location, is the fact that they get to showcase their superstars in front of that crowd and audience.


The people of Puerto Rico rolled out the red carpet for the Superstars of the WWE, as WWE Backlash, the event emanating from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico is now the highest-grossing and most viewed Backlash in history.

There were 34,800 fans that traveled to San Juan and participated in the back-to-back sellout nights of SmackDown (16,896 attendance) and Backlash (17,944). The PPV also left the fans of the company a buzz on social media, as the followers were all a buzz on the events that had happened during the course of the night.


One of the matches of the night that featured Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest drew 40 million views, which is also a new record for the WWE.

The company also smashed other records, including merchandise and sponsorship, as the new tag team of the WWE and Fanatics did a tremendous job of overseeing the on-sit event retail experience. Some of the hot selling items including the WWE Backlash and LWO Puerto Rico t-shits that were spotted throughout the arena.
