New York Jets continue Ukrainian Relief Efforts

One of the amazing things about the New York Jets is their passion for giving back to the community. Especially the relationship that they have been able to build with the Ukrainian community.

Recently the Jets have been able to donate $100,000 to benefit the Revived Soldiers Ukraine Foundation. Thus far the Jets have made a $1 million commitment that is going to be split between various organizations in order to help the humanitarian efforts in the Ukraine.

Thus far the Jets have been able to make previous donations of $100,000 to Plast scouting, Razom for Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, UNITED24, CityServe, Slow Beskid & Children’s Paths and Nova Ukraine.

The newest addition to the roster of non-profit organizations that the Jets are helping out with in the Revived Soldiers Ukraine is dedicated to providing people aid to the people of Ukraine in support of their fundamental human rights and medical rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers. They specialized in providing medical rehabilitation and prosthetics to those who have lost limbs or have become paralyzed.

Helping to lead the efforts in the Jets Charity efforts is Brick Johnson, son of New York Jets Ambassador Robert Wood Johnson. Thus far Johnson has been very involved with helping the Jets in their efforts with the people of the Ukraine, including most recently having a meaningful conversation with the President of Revived Solders Ukraine in Ms. Iryna Vaschuk Discipio.

“Revived Soldiers Ukraine has over 200 volunteers around the world and delivers medical equipment and supplies, arranges humanitarian aid, and provides medical treatment to injured Ukrainian Soldiers and Civilians,” Brick Johnson said. “They have treated over 1,000 soldiers in Ukraine and have also sent 70 Ukrainian soldiers needing complicated treatments to the United States. Revived Soldiers Ukraine opened a new NextStep Rehabilitation Center in Irpin Ukraine, the first neurorehabilitation center in Ukraine for people with injuries of the central nervous system. This will provide Ukraine with state-of-the-art equipment such as Xcite (electrical stimulation) and NuStep (walk imitator), which have been used by patients with neurotrauma in the United States for the past 10 years and they are opening a second facility in Lviv.”

The history between the Jets and the people in the Ukraine area personal one to the Johnson family, as Suzanne Johnson grew up in a Ukrainian neighborhood in New York and is from a family of immigrants.

After learning more about what the conditions were in the Ukraine Johnson and the family immediately had their team in the New York Jets take action and from there a beautiful relationship has been formed.

And not only are the Jets involved with what is happening in the Ukraine, but they also are heavily involved in the New York Community, giving countless hours and dentations to non-profit organizations in the area.
