New York City FC looking to keep Citi Field Rocking as they Host FC Dallas on Saturday

It is going to be a quick turnaround for the Boys in Blue, but after a great week of training New York City FC is ready to challenge FC Dallas this Saturday in MLS action.

Once again the guys are going to be playing at Citi Field, and look to continue their great style of play in the New York City Area.
Thus far New York City FC has a six game winning streak in Queens and they look to keep that momentum going with a strong performance against Dallas.

In the overall matchup against the visiting side, NYCFC has a 2-1-4 record while tallying 12 goals. There are two veterans on the team that will share their previous experiences with this current squad as Talles Magno and Santiago Rodriguez both have seen time against Dallas.

One of the storylines thus far for New York City FC is how the newer members on the team have been able to make an impact with the squad. One such player in Richy Ledezma as he is hoping to contribute more minutes on the pitch for New York City FC and thus far has been impressive. Thus far he has played 61 minutes while tallying an assist in the team’s victory against Nashville.

In addition, Ledezma had some impressive stats as he had 25 accurate passed, 30 total, four chances created, two big chances created, two shots, 46 touches. Thanks to his style of play he was named Man of the Match for the first time.

When asked about Ledezma Head coach Nick Cushing had this to say, ““He’s in a really good place compared to when he came in, and he’s really hungry. I spoke to him this morning. Of course, when you see that a guy like James Sands is maybe 50-50, and that Matías Pellegrini has the cautions, you see the opening, and I see a guy that has the spark in his eye and wants to play, so he’s definitely in contention to start the game.”

To see more thoughts from Coach Cushing about the match fans are encouraged to check out the video below:

Coach Cushing is going to have a ton to think about as the match progresses as the roster has a ton of changes thanks to the return of Matias Pellegrini. In addition, the team is trying to figure out what to do with their formation with Kevin O’Toole being absent with a lower body injury.

Other then that thought he team is going to have a fully fit roster on the field and seeing how they can stand up against the challenge of the Western Conference.
