Things started off on a strong note for the Brooklyn Cyclones (3-8) but ultimately they had another tough night at Maimonides Park, as they fell to the Wilmington Blue Rocks (6-5) by the score of 5-3.
It was one heck of a pitcher’s duel as both Andrew Alvarez and Joander Suarez shined during the course of the night. Alvarez finished the night striking out nine batters, while Suarez fanned five batters in five innings of work.
The Cyclones were able to get a total of seven hits as Kevin Kendall, Kevin Parada, Alex Ramirez, Stanley Consuegra, Jaylen Palmer, Warren Saunders and Joe Suozzi all were able to have themselves a fine day at the dish.

Some of the highlights in the night in terms of the offense came in the Bottom of the Fourth when Parada was able to lace a double through the infield. Then in the Bottom of the Ninth, that was when Kevin Kendall ripped the ball into left field, to get the momentum in the favor of the Cyclones.
Much like the roller coaster ride in Coney Island the Cyclone, both teams had their ups and downs as the night was chocked full of errors, but there were also a ton of web gems that were seen as the guys were flashing the type of defense that will get them the call to the next level of baseball.
The Blue Rocks defensive highlights included a wonderful play by infielder Viandel Pena in the Bottom of the Fourth Inning as he robbed Cyclones Centerfielder Alex Ramirez of a hit, then the other highlight came when Jacob Young had himself an ESPN Top to Play in the Bottom of the Second .
Brooklyn also showed off their gloves as well, as third baseman Jaylen Palmer made a nice infield play combined with the strong throw in helping his team.
These two teams will play ball in the third game of a six-game homestand as the Cyclones hope to get their first win with RHP Raimon Gomez (0-0, 12.27 ERA) taking on fellow RHP Andry Lara (0-0, 3.60 ERA). All the action is set to take place at 7:00 p.m.
