Albany FireWolves Trade Greg Downing to Toronto Rock

Hoping to make a move towards their future the Albany FireWolves traded defender Greg Downing to the Toronto Rock in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2023 Entry Draft.

Downing, who has been in the National Lacrosse League for 14 years, has been with the FireWolves since 2019. He has been able to play in 23 regular season games, while grabbing 112 loose ball recoveries, 12 points and 24 turnovers. Through nine games, Greg ranks fourth no the squad with three blocked shots, and fifth with six caused turnovers.

In exchange the FireWolves hope to have a part of their future that will propel them to the playoffs and beyond with the second-round pick in the 2023 Entry Draft.

Up next for the Albany FireWolves will be a road trip to the New York Riptide, before returning to the MVP Arena for a rematch against the Rock on Saturday, March 25. Face-off between the FireWolves and the Rock is set for 7:00 p.m.
