The Washington Mystics were able to add a great scoring option as well as someone with a great veteran presence in Amanda Zahui B to a one-year deal. The Mystics were able to acquire the negotiating rights to Zahui B from the Las Vegas Aces on February 5, 2023, in exchange for Washington’s second round pick in the 2024 and 2025 WNBA draft.

“Amanda can play inside, and, on the perimeter, a skill set that we value highly in our post players,” said General Manager Mike Thibault. “With her length and athleticism, we are looking forward to her having a significant impact on both ends of the floor. We are thrilled to have her in a Mystics uniform!”

Zahui B. has been someone to watch for in the WNBA for a while, as she has played for the Los Angeles Sparks, the New York Liberty and Tulsa Shock. The center, who has eight years of experience, has appeared in 197 career games. The Center holds averages of 6.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game.

In addition, Amanda is a leader in the community as she has been very active in representing both Los Angeles and New York when it comes time to education and working with the homeless population and lots of other Social Issues.

Zahui B and the rest of the Washington Mystics will start the 2023 season at the Entertainment and Sports Complex on May 19, against longtime WNBA Rival the New York Liberty with the tip starting at 7:00 p.m.
