Jonathan Arauz is an upcoming infielder who was selected by the Mets of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft. A native of Alanje, Panama, Arauz played in 15 games with the Red Sox and Orioles last year. Thus far the infielder has played in 68 games in over three major league seasons with Boston (2020-2022) and Baltimore (2022),
Lorenzo Cedrola is an outfielder to watch for as he has made 125 appearances with Triple-A Louisville of the Reds organization. In six minor league seasons, Cedrola has a career .291 (720-2472) batting average, a .341 OBP to go along with 121 stolen bases.
Connor Grey ir a righty with a ton of potential as he has a 5-6 record with a 6.38 ERA in 26 games with Triple-A Syracuse. Last year, Gray appeared on a major league roster for the first time in his career from Augst 22-August 27, but did not make an appearance with the Mets.
Grant Hartwig is another upcoming pitcher to watch for as the righty holds a 6-2 record with a 1.75 ERA, 83 strikeouts, while leading the Mets Minors with 13 saves in 39 relief appearances with Single A St. Lucie, High-A Brooklyn, Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse. Over the final 29 games of the 2022 season, Hartwig had a 0.86 ERA with 10 saves while holding opposing batters to a .472 OPS.
Tim Locastro is an outfielder with 247 major league games over six seasons with the Dodgers (2017-2018), Diamondbacks (2019-2021) and Yankees (2021-2022). According to Statcast, Locastro has the fastest sprint speed since 2017 and has a stolen base success rate of 88.6 percent.
T.J. McFarland is a pitcher who has had some solid showings over 351 career games in 10 seasons with the Orioles (2013-2016), Diamondbacks (2017-2019), Athletics (2020) and Cardinals (2021-2022). Since his debut in 2013, McFarland ranks eighth amongs relief pitchers with a ground ball rate of 62.8 percent.
Nick Meyer has shined in the backstop position in both Binghamton and Syracuse. Meyer, who is only 25 years old, posted a 14.9 percent walk rate and established a career high in hits (58), home runs (six), RBI (37) and stolen bases (14).
Eric Orze has shined thus far in three seasons in the Mets farm system. In 68 career minor league games, Orze is 8-5 with six saves, a 3.96 ERA, 136 strikeouts and a 1.01 WHIP.
Kevin Parada is a catcher who was drafted by the Mets in the first round (11th overall) of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft out of Georgia tech, Parada, 21, appeared in 13 regular season games combined with the Florida Complex League and Single-A St. Lucis in the first pro season. He was able to have a .400 batting average, with five RBI during St. Lucie’s run to the Florida State League championship last season.
Michael Perez made six appearances for the Mets in the 2022 season from August 15-26, after being acquired from the Pirates on July 23, 2022. The 5-10, 195-pounder has appeared in 199 career games across five major league seasons with the Rays (2018-2020, Pirates (2021-2022) and Mets (2022).
Alex Ramirez has been a star in the outfield, leading all Mets farmhands with 140 hits last season in 121 games combined between Single-A St. Lucie and High-A Brooklyn. Ramirez, 20, enters the 2023 season ranked as the 96th- best prospect in the majors overall according to MLB Pipeline.
Hayden Senger has also done a great job in the backstop position; has he has had a .240 (69-288) average with a career-high-tying five home runs and 31 RBIs over 83 combined games last season between Binghamton and Syracuse.
DJ Stewart hopes to show what he can do in the outfield, after spending five major league seasons with the Orioles (2018-2022) while also having 26 homers and 73 RBIs over 195 career big league games.
Josh Walker has done well as a reliever, making 13 appearances at three levels of the Mets system in 2022. The lefty has a 3-2 record with 38 strikeouts in 22.0 innings. The 6-6, 225-pounder set career highs in games (21) , starts (20), wins (nine), innings (115.2) and strikeouts (96=8).
William Woods made his major league debut with the Braves las eason, going 2.0 scoreless innings with two stikeouts in two appearances.
