Hofstra redshirt freshman Amar’e Marshall added his fourth Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week Award to his haul today as the conference office announced the honor this morning.
Marshall had another strong week for Hofstra in a pair of games.
He got it started with a 24-point, four-rebound, and four-assist outing at #4 Purdue on Wednesday. The 24 points marked a new season-high for Marshall and the assist total tied his season-high. The game also marked the first start of his career. His 24 points were the fourth-most for a Pride player against a ranked opponent in the program’s CAA era (since 2001) and the most in that timeframe by a freshman/redshirt freshman.
On Sunday he tallied four points, five rebounds, and three assists against Massachusetts.
For the week he averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He averaged 31.5 minutes per outing in the two starts as well.
